Capital Bank's mission is to empower our employees to be able to provide excellent financial services to our customers while strengthening our communities and enhancing the value of the bank.
Capital Bank was founded in 1963 as a small, independent bank with the goal of providing our local community with excellent, personalized customer service. Capital Bank has invested heavily through the years to upgrade its technology and computer system, offering their loyal customers the latest in convenience and security, with products such as overdraft shelter, electronic check conversion, check imaging, online banking, bill pay and eStatements.
Capital Bank has also grown and expanded to offer services to a wider range of customers. In 2006, the branch bank in Ringgold moved into new facilities on US Hwy 41 at the Battlefield Parkway intersection, and added a new remote ATM. An additional branch also opened in Chickamauga, Georgia, expanding our brick and mortar facilities into Walker County. The Fort Oglethorpe branch was remodeled, and a state-of-the-art training facility was added on the second floor.
Capital Bank has won many awards over the years, not just for outstanding service but also for our commitment to the community, receiving the Grand National Award for Community Service, given by The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) in 2007. Capital Bank employees frequently volunteer their services to local schools, civic organizations, and non-profits. They are mentors to school-aged children, build Habitat for Humanity homes, and raise money for local charities. Capital Bank is well known as a "giving" bank, not just for giving money for a variety of community endeavors, but also their time and efforts.
Today, fifty years since its founding, Capital Bank is still locally owned and independent, sustaining its well-earned reputation by continuing to help our local community and independent, small businesses.
