A Capital Bank check card offers our customers an easy and convenient way to make purchases
without the need of carrying cash. You can use your Capital Bank check card wherever Visa is accepted.
Ask one of our representatives how you can add a check card to your account.
Credit or Debit?
Tell the cashier you want to SIGN for your purchases. This gives you the added benefit of Visa’s Zero Liability protection which protects against unauthorized purchases.
You may be asked or prompted to choose DEBIT or CREDIT when making purchases. DEBIT will require a PIN; CREDIT will require a signature on the receipt. Choosing CREDIT does not mean the payment is delayed but simply processes the transaction through the VISA network and provided additional protection. When possible, choose CREDIT for purchase transactions.
You won’t have to wait while a check is approved or your ID verified, Check Card purchases transmit directly to VISA for authorization online. Just show your card, sign the receipt and you’re on your way!
You are not charged a fee for Check Card purchases – either by the bank or retail merchants. Carrying a Check Card is safer than carrying cash.
Using your Capital Bank Check Card as an ATM card
Your Capital Bank Check Card also functions
as a ATM card. Please remember the following
valuable information:
ATMs offer you 24 hour a day access to your bank– checking or savings accounts. You may generally get cash or perform transfers at ATMs.
Capital Bank does not charge a fee for using your card in our ATM systems. You may be accessed a fee when using a system supplied by another bank or ATM company, commonly ranging from $1.00 to $2.50 or more per transaction. CapitalBank also charges a small fee for processing these foreign transactions.
Using the Check Card as an ATM card requires the use of a PIN number. If your PIN and card are used by unauthorized individuals, you may still be liable.
